What would you do if you found a secret room in your new house? You would go look around wouldn’t you? Every child would because every child has questions that can’t be answered. What would you do if you found a secret book in that room and it had a warning that told you not to look? You would look wouldn’t you? Every child would because every child is stupid and doesn’t listen sometimes. Jared Grace did both of these things and he learned the hard way. He unlocked a world that no one knew about. No one except his great grandfather who disappeared many long years ago in the same house that they are living in know This movie was fast paced with lots of action but I thought they could have added a little more to it.
The movie is about a family that has moved in to their new house which is a 19 century mansion that belonged to their great grandfather who has been missing since long before they were born. Jared finds a mysterious room in the back of a closet which leads to finding the book. The book that has the power to destroy two worlds, theirs and the one in their back yard that they never knew existed. When Jared breaks the seal on the book it puts his whole world in danger. Now he must team up with his twin Simon and is older sister Mallory to save their world from the evil transforming ogre Mullgerath and his army of goblins! And maybe even find out what happened to their great grandfather all the long years ago.
This is a great movie but I thought it was a little short because The Spiderwick Chronicles are based on a group of books and there is much, much, much more in the books than in the movie.
